Markay Latimer’s The 1K Club – My First Month Results
Three stars out of five.
TLDR: For complete novices, this has some great educational value that is absolutely worth the $49 price. However, do not expect it to help beyond giving you a very basic introduction into trading.
I paid for the 1-month membership, at $49.
It took me only a few hours to go through ALL the material available in the program.
If you are BRAND NEW to Options trading, there is some really good educational material in here, totally worth the $49 member fee.
The pitch said “learn to make an extra $1000 a month by trading 30 minutes a day (in the evening).”
The 30 minute trading day booklet goes through three basic candlestick patterns that aren’t particularly easy to spot (until after the fact) and are easy to misidentify. They’re nothing revolutionary and there was virtually no information on how to use them. There was no information on how to convert 30 minutes of chart scanning into a trade plan, or how to execute that, without sitting in front of the computer the next day, first thing in the morning. And there wasn’t even much instruction on how that strategy would work.
There was no useful information on how to set up trades to take advantage of a particular trend, if you happened to manage to identify a good candidate. There was a bit of direction on using simple tools to limit losses or capture gains, but nothing above “investing 101.” Certainly nothing that makes me think it will help me do any better than I’m already doing or that I can do it in only 30 minutes a day.
The “masterclass” was a 2 hour video that has some educational value. It’s scattered, directionless, and more of a Q&A than a class. There was minimal teaching, if any at all. I was just Markay saying what she would do based on a chart, with vague references as to why, using jargon that most beginning investors will be unfamiliar with. She gets side-tracked by pointless questions, and fails to give any robust instruction or opportunity for the viewer to understand anything she is saying. I already know the jargon, and she said nothing I hadn’t already heard before (most of which is lip-service).
This service does not claim to provide subscribers with regular trade ideas, and it was consistent with that. Do not expect regular “great trade ideas.” There were three trade ideas shared (in the past) that I found, and none seemed to work out, from looking at how the stock actually went (using hindsight).
Summary: If your current investing strategy is simply guessing and hoping, or you have almost zero knowledge, this program does have some insight and guidance that, in my opinion, is absolutely worth $49! I genuinely mean that. I wish I’d had this kind of info when I was first starting. Maybe you can use it to start investing profitably, but don’t expect to be spoon fed winning trades or how to set them up.
For anyone with a basic understanding of options trading, reading a stock chart, and simple studies like bollinger bands and moving averages – I would recommend Markay’s most expensive services like Markay Latimer’s Profit Accelerator and Markay Latimer’s Profit Zone. I bought both of them and soon will post my first month results which are really impressive.
