The stock market was a disaster. The Dow peaked in 1965 (right when all this began) and couldn’t hit the same high for 30 years.
Crime was rampant and there was political unrest. Similar to what we see today.
In order to finally get the inflation under control, the Fed had to raise interest rates all the way to 22.36%!
